Tribo-informatics approaches in tribology research: A review

Abstract Tribology research mainly focuses on the friction, wear, and lubrication between interacting surfaces. With continuous increase in industrialization of human society, tribology objects have become increasingly extensive. methods also gone through stages empirical science based phenomena, theoretical models, computational simulations. has a strong engineering background. Owing to intense coupling characteristics tribology, tribological information includes subject related mathematics, physics, chemistry, materials, machinery, etc. Constantly emerging data models are basis for development tribology. The technology provided new more efficient generating, collecting, processing, analyzing data. As result, concept “tribo-informatics (triboinformatics)” been introduced. In this paper, guided by framework tribo-informatics, application tribo-informatics is reviewed. This article aims provide helpful guidance scientific using approaches.
